Schools Garden Challenge - Planning Workshop

Representatives from the Otherwise-Engaged team attended a meeting organised by Sue Verdeyen, Education Officer, at the Three Counties Showground. Phil Eves from BAM Construction Ltd offered practical help and support with our build, particularly site levelling, electricity supply and watering our plants and turf between completion of build and the show judging date. Pictured Phil Eves from BAM showing the team the plan of the site and gardens.

Schools Garden Challenge - Fund Raising

To pay for items and materials not directly covered by sponsors the Otherwise-Engaged students set about fund raising for their School Garden Challenge project by running stalls at the St. Leonard's Victorian Craft fair and Haden Hill House Family Christmas Fair.

Schools Garden Challenge - Sponsors

Once the design of their garden had been agreed, and the resources and materials required identified, the students set about presenting their plans to potential sponsors. Dependending on the level of sponsorship donated the show organisers offer due recognition in the RHS Malvern Spring Show Programme, on the interpretation board provided and tickets to the show for the sponsors. All great incentives to get involved!

IMST7 - Top Gear Challenge 8th October 2008
Is it a car or is it a rocket? Inspired by the DIY challenges of the Top Gear presenters we set out to see who could build the fastest car. Taking friction and air resistance into account we built propeller driven and rocket powered cars. At the end of the day we tested our creations in a race in true Top Gear style!
